Richard is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with PwC and like many of his peers, moved into industry immediately after qualifying. Over 20 years Richard has worked in a number of sectors including retail, wholesale, logistics and media, culminating with being a CFO in a £600 million turnover business.
Following this he became an interim executive, which included preparing businesses for third-party sales – gaining valuable experience (and more than a few scars) from the complex, high-pressure world of traditional business exits. During this period, Richard saw the light and started working on Employee Ownership Transactions (no scars to date). His varied experience gives him a unique, balanced perspective when advising business owners on their succession options.
He understands the challenges and trade-offs of each path and is committed to helping clients find the route that fits both their goals and their values. Richard is often the first point of contact for clients and plays a key role in shaping the initial design of the transaction to align with their objectives and priorities.
In his spare time, Richard likes to spend time with his family and friends. He cycles and can be often seen on the terraces of his beloved Wycombe Wanderers and fantasises that one day he may get the call.
